How to choose the right eyelash extension adhesive for different types of extensions and clients? From viscosity to consistency, curing time, and drying time much has changed with the latest lash adhesives. There are 3 things to keep in mind when choosing the best eyelash extension adhesive for different types of lashes and client needs: What is the room temperature and humidity? If your lashing environment is cooler than 22C and less than 40% RH, choose a thinner, quicker drying glue like our adhesive construct. If your environment is warmer than 22C and over 45% RH, choose a thicker, slower drying adhesive like our Symmetry Adhesive or PURE adhesive. Are you creating hand made fans or using premade fans? Handmade fans can use any type of adhesive, but we recommend using a thicker and slower drying adhesive for premade fans. What kind of drying time are you looking for? It’s important to define how fast you want to work. Are you a seasoned pro, or a newer artist taking a bit more time? We recommend a faster drying glue for our lash experts, and a thicker slower drying glue for newer artists trying to build their speed.

How to store and extend the shelf life of eyelash extension adhesives?Always store your unopened eyelash extension adhesive in a dark, cool, and dry space. Keep your adhesives fresher longer by consistently storing them in temps lower than 75°F or 23.8°C at low humidity. Opened bottles should never be stored in the fridge or freezer. Keeping them at room temp helps avoid hot/cold shocks. Shake the adhesive for 2-3 minutes before using it to ensure the ingredients mix well. Lastly, if the glue looks separated, or if heat or moisture impacts its quality—it’s time to replace it!

What is the best way to dispose of used eyelash extension supplies? There are a few ways to implement proper disposal of your used eyelash extension supplies: Lash extension adhesive bottles and glue rings: Remove any glue contamination before tossing these into the waste bin. Do this by using water to polymerize the glue to separate it from its container. Avoid using cotton to wipe off the glue as its exothermic compounds may burn the cotton. Once separated, the solidified glue can go into a hazardous waste bin, and the empty bottles and glue rings can go with non-biodegradable waste products. Chemical products such as lash primers, lash shampoos and cleansers, and lash adhesive removers: Each contains different chemicals that can be hazardous to the environment, so it’s always best to check with your local requirements on how to dispose of chemical waste from beauty supplies. False lashes: When no longer reusable, false lashes go with other non-biodegradable waste products. Lash trays and sharps: Place these in a puncture-proof container to avoid accidents during garbage collection.

How to properly clean and maintain eyelash extension tools?Your eyelash extension tools should be clean as new for every client. For the best clean, get yourself some Barbicide, an implement tray, acetone, and some cotton swabs. You should also check your local state or provincial health code for proper decontamination chemicals and procedures for sterilizing equipment. Here are a few tips to ensure your eyelash extension tools are properly cleaned and sanitized: Remove adhesive from your tweezer tips using the acetone and a cotton swab. Keep wiping until the glue comes off. But if you have coloured tweezers, be mindful of the finish. Disinfect your tweezers by mixing the Barbicide with some water in your implement tray. (Check the Barbicide’s manufacturing instructions for the correct ratios). Place your tweezers in your tray and let them soak for about 10 minutes or so. Again, check the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse your tweezers with warm water, let them dry, and store them in a clean implement tray to keep them away from dirty ones.

How to determine the correct size and length of eyelash extensions for different clients? When choosing eyelash extensions for different clients, look at their natural lashes. The general rule for eyelash extensions is keeping them between 3mm - 5mm longer than their natural beauties. The calculation is the longest length used should be the length of the natural lash plus 50%. So if the natural lash is 12mm long - the longest length you can use is 18mm. Most natural lashes are 8-10mm in length, so 12-15mm length extension is the longest MOST clients can handle
